Mahatma Gandhi holds the highest position in Indian history. He is hailed as the ‘Father of the Nation’ and is the face of the Indian currency notes. Not for nothing is he celebrated in this regard; his exploits against the British helped India win her independence at the stroke of the midnight hour of 15th of August, 1947. Free India was born thanks to many but mainly because of the Mahatma’s ‘never-say-die’ attitude. He is already an inspiration to billions of Indians but his courage and diplomatic ways put him on the global map. Throughout the world, Gandhi is respected and is considered a paragon of truth and non-violence, his two biggest weapons during the freedom struggle for India.

This Gandhi Jayanti, we at QNET, celebrate the brilliance of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Not just because he is QNET’s ‘Corporate Icon’ but also because India would not hold this much significance today without him. Here are some of the telling quotes that he left the world with, which resonate with people even today.

1. “A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes.”

2. “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”

3. “The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.”

4. “Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.”

5. “Glory lies in the attempt to reach one’s goal and not in reaching it.”

6. “It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”

Mahtama Gandhi

7. “I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent.”

8. “You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”

9. “Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”

10. “There is a higher court than courts of justice and that is the court of conscience. It supersedes all other courts.”

We salute the Father of our Nation, on his 151st birth anniversary, for his indomitable spirit, resolve, and will to achieve whatever he set out to do. Indians worldwide attract respect for being from the same nation as the Mahatma. He has nothing but a source of pride and conviction. India shall eternally be grateful to the man and the legend that is Mahatma Gandhi.
